Maryport sits just west of the Lake District in Cumbria, close to the beautiful beaches in Allonby and Silloth. It’s a pretty harbour town, full of quaint little shops and interesting haunts.
There’s the Aquarium, a Clip n’ Climb Wall, and the impressive Shipwreck Play Area (located on the harbour). West Coast Indoor Go-Karting is also situated in Maryport, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. If history is more your thing, the Senhouse Roman Museum is full of intriguing artefacts which tell the rich Roman history of the area.
Maryport is easily accessible by train on the Cumbrian Coastal Line which runs from Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness. Stagecoach also has regular buses coming and going from the town. The 300 leaves Carlisle hourly and the 30 runs from Whitehaven.
Go-karting in Cumbria
Despite being a relatively rural county we do boast an impressive indoor go-kart track. It’s a great family activity for kids and adults alike. Children need to be aged eight or above and prices start from just £15 a person. We are easily accessible to the West Coast of Cumbria, The Lake District, Carlisle and the Borders.
The karting track is open six days a week, throughout the year. Usually closed on Mondays unless it’s a Bank Holiday. It’s important to book ahead as and to do so just call: (01900) 816472.
